BSF Bidding Teams in Sample Schools again..................
The two sample schools have opened their doors again and welcomed key members of the three separate Bidding Teams into their schools to begin the dialogue stage with an initial focus on Design.
This first Design focused dialogue session for each of the 3 Bidding Teams enabled them to have discrete individual discussions with the Headteachers and Senior Staff at both the Sample Schools. This first session has formed the platform for further planned school based Design focused dialogue sessions over the next few months as part of the planned ITCD Timetable.
These further meetings will enable the Bidding Teams to interact with specially selected Sample School Staff and pupil Engagement Teams and collectively they will be able to tease out and address the principal objectives of their school's design needs.
This is a really exciting prospect for School staff, pupils and the members of the respective Bidding Teams, who will be supported in this interactive process by the BSF Bid Co-ordinators, John Galbraith the BSF Co-ordinator and myself.
I'm pleased to report that, if this is an example of the ITCD Stage, then it's off to a cracking start!
Regards
Kevin

ITCD Update : Bidders initial visits to BSF Sample Schools proves successful.........................
The 3 bidding teams have had a busy start to the preamble of the ITCD Stage by engaging in initial formal visits to the Sample Schools, Brumby Engineering College and Melior Community College.
Key members of C² Partnership Limited, Generation Education NL, and May Gurney Limited along with their individual BSF Bid Co-ordinators and myself were given a separate guided tour of both Sample Schools grounds and buildings by Senior Staff of each school.
These initial visits were very successful in establishing an initial rapport with the individual schools, viewing them in situ and seeing first hand the potential landscape for educational transformation.
The visits have provided a great start to the process.

E Safety.....................................
IT will play a major part in the BSF educational transformation agenda and its impact on the lives of pupils, parents and communities is already apparent and will become more focused and relevant as time goes on.
Young people using IT appropriately and safely both in school and in their everyday life is a major concern for schools, teachers and parents. In this context, E Safety is a big agenda for schools in order to enable all our young people to engage with IT successfully, safely and appropriately.
Recently I attended, with several other colleagues from North Lincolnshire's Learning Services and LA Safeguarding Teams, an E Safety Conference led by the YHGFL Foundation at Wakefield. This proved to be a very useful day and we had opportunities to listen to and engage with key speakers from nationally recognised lead agencies in this area, such as:
Jim Gamble CEO from CEOP
Ruth Hammond from BECTA
Stephen Carrick-Davis CEO from Childnet International.
The conference proved both stimulating and enlightening on the major issues and concerns. Also the discussions and outcomes will provide a platform for key LA personnel to begin to formulate the policies and procedures to enable our young people to have the skills and support needed to engage with new and current technologies safely and appropriately.
